The Brave New Workshop, founded by Dudley Riggs in 1958, is the oldest, continuing, satirical comedy theatre in the country. Originally formed from cast members of Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus, Albert White’s Follies, and Vaudeville; Alumni of the Brave New Workshop have gone on to write, perform, and produce for such television programs as MAD TV, M.A.S.H., Webster, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Murphy Brown, and of course, Saturday Night Live. Film work includes Poltergeist, Airplane, Sophie’s Choice, Ruthless People, Police Academy, and Naked Gun. The Brave New Workshop has performed at over 400 colleges in 40 states including Alaska, as well as performing in Europe and the Caribbean while a part of the USO Tours. Louie Anderson, Penn & Teller, Al Franken, and Susan Vass are just a few of the artists who have contributed to the rich history of the Brave New Workshop.
